We focus on peace building; safe migration (refugee self-reliance and counter human trafficking); sustainable natural resource management; economic empowerment (youth and women); and organizational capacity development.
ANCHOR promotes non-violent demobilization of LRA and other armed groups, as well as protection, rescue and rehabilitation of affected persons and communities especially women and children in post-conflict zones through supporting partners to establish early warning systems, demobilization (defection), and rehabilitation (transit).
ANCHOR works towards ensuring that policy makers and practitioners reach beyond security and intelligence measures to tackle violent extremism through establishing credible evidence that informs programs focused on building capacity of actors from the local to national and regional level in a way that builds resilience.
ANCHOR builds capacity and influences public institutions to act as agents and promoters of peace through good governance and relevant legislation. By doing so, ANCHOR targets relevant government ministries, departments and agencies.
ANCHOR collaborates with regional and global partners such as Invisible Children Inc. (USA), SAIPED (DRC), Inter Church Committee (SS) and Vision for Development (CAR) to coordinate life-saving programs aimed at preventing conflict and peacefully eroding the capacity of armed insurgents. These include the establishment and management of early warning networks, defection initiatives and advocacy to create and sustain awareness about the plight of war-affected communities.
